2) What causes it?
Cold Sores is caused by a virus called a herpes simplex virus. This kind of virus comes in to types. Virus type 1 (HSV1), this only affects the tissues the lies on top of the waistline. Virus type 2 (HSV2), this virus affects the tissues below the waistline. This virus is also known as the "Genital Herpes".

3) What are the symptoms? How long do they last? Is it deadly?
A sore on the mouth which makes eating, drinking, and sleeping uncomfortable. Cold Sores can also be very painful. It can also give a fever, sore throat, a swollen lymph nodes on the neck, and more drooling for children. Once you have been infected, it may remain and return in your lifetime. Most people have 1 to 12 affect a year and once older, they will have a fever affect.
