Argyria is often known as the blue skin disease or disorder among the general population. Argyria is caused by exposure to silver compounds or silver elements. The most dramatic symptoms of Argyria is the victim's skin turning blue and blue-ish grey. The disease is considered a "cosmetic disorder" and mildly disfiguring. The effect of the blue skin is permanent although it is not life-threatening. Argyria is irreversible but there are certain methods that can be use treat to Argyria. One way is to use 5% of hydroquinone to reduce the amount of silver around sweat glands thought it cannot completely remove the silver. The expensive alternative is to treat it with lasers though the procedure is extremely painful and is experimental with no confirmed chance of success.
